
Most insurance companies provide their customers
with a Lifetime Collision Repair Warranty on
the quality of workmanship and the materials authorised in the
repair of their vehicle.
Some insurers have in the past provided a
fully Transferable Lifetime Collision Repair Warranty which
can be accessed many years after the original collision repair
and after many different owners. Under this warranty current
owners need not have owned the vehicle when it was originally
collision damaged, however allows current owners to claim remedial
re-works for their vehicle.
Aggrieved owners of collision repaired vehicles
can make a claim under the fully transferable Lifetime Repair
warranty and Guarantee however they will first need to substantiate
their claim. The IVIC ‘Structural Tolerance Report’
can assist to provide the technical evidence owners might require
to prove their claim.
Any remedial repairs are likely to be
conducted at no charge to the owner and all owners of collision
repaired vehicles are advised to immediately contact IVIC for
